PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel analysis method for quantifying procyanidin and flavan-3-ol contained in natural matter, food and drink, medicines and/or cosmetics. SOLUTION: This novel analysis method is a method for quantifying procyanidin (generic term for a mixture of (n) polymers of catechin; n≥1) and contains a pretreatment process (a) by using a column for removing impurities, which exert an effect on procyanidin and flavan-3-ol, from an analysis sample and a process (b) for separating procyanidin and flavan-3-ol in a treated solution, from which impurites are removed in the pretreatment process (a), by means of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and quantify them.
