PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contamination due to a scattering of toner with a simple structure in an image forming apparatus having a rotary development device. SOLUTION: A plate-like shield member 100 is disposed so as to cover a lower part of the rotary development device 3 and a part of the left side part. A magnet 101 is removably provided from the shield member 100 at the center of a horizontal part positioned below the rotary development device 3. In an image forming process, with the rotation of the rotary development device 3, when the magnetic toner is dropped or scattered from a development element 16, the dropped toner is collected on the shield member 100. Further, according to magnetism of the magnet 101, the dropped magnetic toner is attracted to a magnet part. Thus, the contamination of the toner into the apparatus is prevented.
