PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyance device capable of preventing a damage of a device and deterioration in quality of an object to be conveyed by preventing a moving member from moving according to inclination of the device when a linear motor is used, an image reader and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The conveyance device is provided with a fixing element 4 having a plurality of magnets 5, the linear motor 3 having an electromagnetic coil 9 and a moving member 8 movably arranged along the fixing element 4, a control part 16 which controls drive of the linear motor 3 and an inclination detection mechanism 15 which detects an amount of inclination of the moving member 8 in the travel direction A.
