PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage mediumin capable of more facilitating a file management and also stably managing an unrecorded position, and to provide an information recording apparatus and a method, and a reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: A first unrecorded region exists in a video file, managed by a file system, also, a position of a second unrecorded region being not allocated on the information storage medium is also managed, A space bit map and a space table are defined as a management method, the space table and the space bit map are set so that the both are not used together.
