PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a usual implement of a binder that an opening-closing lever in a state of standing up gets out of this state with a slight external force applied thereto in the direction of falling down and falls down to be a hindrance of the use of the binder, or that a binding ring comes to be opened by the external force, and to provide a structure of making the opening-closing lever engaged stably. SOLUTION: The binding implement of the binder comprises an elastic sheath body 1, a pair of movable base plates 5, 5 of which the outer edge portions are restrained by the sheath body 1 and which are brought into contact with each other at the inner edge portions, the binding rings 7, 7 in a plurality which are provided for the movable base plates 5, 5, and the opening-closing levers 9 which are fitted to the opposite ends in the lengthwise direction of the movable base plates 5, 5 so that they can stand up/fall down. Herein a first engagement part is provided at the upper edge portions 25, 25 of a main body part 17 of the opening-closing lever 9 adjacently to the opposite sides of a horizontal portion 27 of the main body part 17, while a second engagement part engaging the first engagement part on the lower side of the sheath body 1 is provided at a position where it turns adjacent to the horizontal portion 27 at the time when the opening-closing lever 9 stands up.
