<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption as a hybrid type outboard motor having a four-cycle engine and an electric motor as a driving source, and preventing the size from extremely increasing for hybridization. <P>SOLUTION: This outboard motor has the four-cycle engine 14 which is longitudinally mounted so that a crank shaft 14a may be oriented in a vertical direction, the electric motor 30, an oil pan 28 provided at a lower part of the engine 14, and a driving force adjusting unit 4 which transmits the driving force of the engine 14 and the driving force of the electric motor 30 as the driving force for rotating a propeller 52 together. The driving force adjusting unit 4 is disposed so as to be adjacent to the lower surface of the oil pan 28, a motor housing chamber 29 is formed by forming a part of the bottom of the oil pan 28 in an upward protruding state, and the electric motor 30 is housed in the motor housing chamber 29 so that an output shaft 30a is oriented downward in a vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
