<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic steel by which soft magnetic steel parts of complicated shape can be manufactured in high yield at a low cost while securing excellent ac magnetic properties and exhibiting superior cold forgeability and machinability in the course of manufacturing process. <P>SOLUTION: The soft magnetic steel with excellent cold forgeability, machinability and ac magnetic properties has a composition consisting of 0.004 to 0.020% (by mass, the same applies to the following) C, >2.0 to 4.0% Si, 0.2 to 1.0% Mn, ≤0.02% (not including 0%) P, 0.02 to 0.10% S, 0.05 to 2.0% Al, 0.01 to 0.1% Cu, 0.01 to 0.1% Ni, 0.01 to 0.1% Cr, ≤0.0050% (not including 0%) N, ≤0.010% (not including 0%) O and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying [Mn]/[S]≥8 äwhere [Mn] and [S] represent Mn content (mass%) and S content (mass%), respectively} and also has a metallic structure composed of a ferrite single phase structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
