<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument equipped with an earpick so that relief from tension coming from work-related stresses, diversion of mind or recovery from a fall in thinking ability due to mental fatigue, etc. can be easily realized through the use of this earpick by incorporating the function of ear picking in the writing instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The writing instrument is structured in which a rear shaft cylinder 5 is coaxially installed at the rear edge of a front shaft cylinder 3 provided with a built-in writing part 2. The writing instrument is further structured so that the writing part 2 makes appearance from the leading side of the front shaft cylinder 3 in an axially rotating operation of the rear shaft cylinder 5 or in an advancing and a retreating operation in the axial direction of the rear shaft cylinder 5, relative to the front shaft cylinder 3.
