PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technological means relating to a seashore block used for scouring the seabed and protecting the mound surface of an artificial reef and to seabed protective structure constructed out of the seashore blocks, which allows the construction of a seabed protective structure made of a continuous material having inter-block flexibility by using a construction method of bringing down hanging unit blocks one by one to the seabed. SOLUTION: A unit block 1a has two laterally extending arms 6, and two longitudinally extending legs 8 which form upward U-shaped hooks 9 when set in a position for locking other arms 6. The arms 6 of a block 1R at a rear tier are hung and lowered down and locked to the upward U-shaped hooks 9 of a preliminary set block at a front tier. In this manner, unit blocks 1a are laid down on the seabed sequentially to form the protective structure constructed out of the aggregate of the unit blocks 1a that are connected vertically at the connection between the arms 6 and hooks 9 so as to be rockable.
