PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for a polyester powdered paint that has excellent adhesiveness with the coated matter and not including heavy metal in consideration of the environmental contamination and provide a polyester powdered paint prepared by using the same. SOLUTION: The resin for polyester powdered paint mainly comprises aromatic dicarboxylic acid and glycol having a hydroxyl value of 17 to 65 KOH/g. The method for producing the same comprises using, as a polymerization catalyst, 100 to 400 ppm of a solid solution composed of a magnesium compound and an aluminum compound and adding 100 to 400 ppm of the solid solution to the resultant resin to produce the resin for the powdered paint.
