PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock-absorbing material having transparency, moderate adhesiveness and sufficient shock-absorbing property necessary for protecting a liquid crystal display and free from corroding property to the constitution material of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The shock-absorbing resin composition for a liquid crystal display comprises 10-80 pts.wt. of an acrylic acid derivative polymer, 15-89.9 pts.wt. of an acrylic acid derivative monomer, and 0.1-5 pts.wt. of a polymerization initiator. The composition preferably comprises a specific amount of an acrylate containing an alkylacrylate hydroxyl group having a 4-18C alkyl group in addition to the above polymer and monomer.
