PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 2, 3-disubstituted p-phenylenediamine, a composition for oxidative coloring of keratinic fibers comprising at least one 2, 3-disubstituted p-phenylenediamine as an oxidative base, and an oxidation dyeing method using the composition. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the p-phenylenediamine compounds of formula (I), their physiologically permissible solvates and acid addition salts, (in the formula R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>form, together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached, a 4-, 5-, 6-, or 7-membered ring, characterized in that the ring either consists of carbon atoms, or consists of carbon atoms and of one or two atoms chosen from oxygen and nitrogen, and when the ring comprises two atoms chosen from oxygen and nitrogen, then these two atoms are non-adjacent, the ring being unsubstituted or substituted.).
