PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire and a pneumatic tire having improved friction performances on ice. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire comprises 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber, 0.5-20 pts.wt. of non-metal fibers having 1-100μm average fiber diameter and 0.1-5 mm average fiber length and 0.5-30 pts.wt. of a filler having≥2 protrusions and≥10μm average length of the protrusions.
