The device (1) for injecting an additive comprises a removable flexible pouch (11) forming a liquid additive reservoir (12) connected to the fuel supply system of the engine (5) via a quick-connect element (24; 35; 38; 40) to an additive feed line (17) that supplies a dosing pump (16). The flexible pouch (11) retracts whereby reducing its inside volume in order to compensate for the drop in pressure created inside as the additive (12) is drawn out of the pouch (11). The flexible pouch (11) is formed by two essentially oblong and rounded layers (20, 21; 28, 29) primarily made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), in particular, ester-based whose perimeters forming lips are welded to one another by a weld bead (22). The invention is for use in direction injection diesel engines.
