PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication device which guarantees that a user, who is succeeded in user authentication through the authentication device, and a terminal user are the same person by using a terminal having no unique waiting state processing for receiving the result of authentication and enables safe use of an IC card, and also provide a method therefor.

SOLUTION: The specific information reporting part M20 of an authentication device 200 generates specific information P16 based on user authentication result information P14 received from a user authentication part M10 and then reports the specific information P16 to a user 400. The user 400 inputs input data P18 to a terminal 300 based on the specific information P16 thus reported. When the authentication device 200 receives input data related information P20, an input data related information determination part M30 decodes the input data related information P20 with the specific information P16. When the result of the decoding is authentication-succeeded information of format permitted to transmit to an IC card 100, already decoded authentication-succeeded information P24 is transmitted to the IC card 100.
