IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and image processing method for applying sharpness processing to image data that suppresses application of excessive sharpness processing to the image data.

SOLUTION: When it is required to apply sharpness processing executed in reproduction processing of e.g. RAW data and sharpness processing by user edit to the RAW data, the adaptive strength of the two sharpness processing processes are composed (S1207). Then one sharpness processing process on the basis of the composed adaptive strength is applied to the RAW data in place of two of the sharpness processing processes (S1208).
