PAPER FOR RECORDING INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paper for recording information which maintains strength and stiffness and excellent dimensional stability while having excellent low density and lightness in weight.

SOLUTION: The paper stuff containing a hardwood mechanical pulp produced by chemicals processing and a soft calcium carbonate composite prepared by coating the surfaces of soft calcium carbonate particles with silica is formed by papermaking. The hardwood mechanical pulp is preferably compounded therewith at 3 to 50 wt% of the total pulp, and the soft calcium carbonate composite is preferably contained therein as a filler at 1 to 25 wt% therein.
