<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell capable of suppressing gas leak between a fuel electrode membrane side and an oxide electrode membrane side by suppressing deterioration of a solid polyelectrolyte membrane on its peripheral side. <P>SOLUTION: A solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell 10 is equipped with a cell in which electrode membranes 12, 13 are provided on one side and the other side of a solid polyelectrolyte membrane 11, a first gas diffusion layer 14 provided so as to cover the electrode membrane 12 on one side of the cell, a second gas diffusion layer 15 provided so as to cover the electrode membrane 13 on the other side of the cell, and separators 16 provided on the one side and the other side of the cell, respectively, with the gas diffusion layers 14, 15 interposed therebetween. The solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell 10 includes first insulating layers 18 provided between the solid polyelectrolyte membrane 11 of the cell and the gas diffusion layers 14, 15 with an electrical insulating property and second insulating layers 19 provided on peripheral edges of the gas diffusion layers 14, 15 with an electrical insulating property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
