PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and an image reproducing device which are capable of reproducing tracking video images continuously in the photographed video images recorded by video image photographing devices. SOLUTION: The video image recording device 1 is equipped with a first video image input means 101 for inputting video images; a video image recording means 104 for recording the inputted video images; an object recognition means 102 for recognizing the previously designated object from the video images; a movement information detecting means 103 for detecting movement information that contains information as to a direction of movement of the recognized object; a following input means for judging means 106 judging a second video image input means located at a movement end where the detected object has moved on the basis of the movement information, when the detected object whose movement information is detected has moved out of the imaging range of the first video image input means; and a movement input information recording means 105 for recording information as to the movement information and the second video image input means, so that the recognized object can be tracked and continuously reproduced without using the video image input means 101.
