PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LCD having a higher aperture ratio and higher luminance than that of a conventional LCD, capable of preventing the generation of disclination, and/or hardly generating image persistence on a display screen. SOLUTION: A unit pixel 100 includes a pixel electrode 1 having an aperture part 5, and a pixel electrode 3 having a prescribed inclination with respect to Y direction. During application of voltage, the angle defined by the direction of an electric field at the surroundings of the pixel electrode 3 with respect to X direction is larger than a rubbing angle of a liquid crystal molecule.
