PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that suppresses a display defect by preventing a plurality of electrodes to which a driving signal line is connected from electrostatically being broken, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the display device. SOLUTION: The display device has: an effective display section 6 comprising a plurality of display pixels PX; a plurality of electrodes 11 to which a driving signal source supplying a driving signal to the effective display section 6 is connected; a wiring W2 which extends in the array direction of the plurality of pixels 11; and a conductive layer 17 which is arranged between the plurality of electrodes 11 and the wiring W2 and extends nearly in parallel to the wiring W2, where the conductive layer 17 and wiring W2 are arranged in the same layer.
