PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe member for a construction facilitating back-filling grouting work at a low cost and capable of adjusting intervals of steel pipes and a construction method using the steel pipe member for the construction. SOLUTION: The two steel pipe members for the construction are constituted in a connectable manner by fitting a first joint for one steel pipe member for the construction and a second joint for the other steel pipe member for the construction. Internal communicating holes 11a making the leg interior space 12k of the first leg section and the insides of steel pipe bodies communicate with each other are formed, and a plurality of external communicating holes 12h making the leg interior space 12k and the outside communicate with each other are formed. Both opened ends of the leg interior space 12k are closed with a closing member, and a grout is grouted into the ground through the internal communicating holes 11a and the external communicating holes 12h.
