PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable rotation angle detection device capable of detecting highly accurately a rotation angle of a rotating magnetic field. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with the first to fourth magnetoelectric devices 10a-10d arranged radially at about 90° on a semiconductor substrate 1. The first to fourth magnetoelectric devices 10a-10d output sine wave signals having approximately the same period and approximately the same amplitude following rotation of the magnetic field. The first and third magnetoelectric devices 10a, 10c output the first sine wave signals 100a, 100c having approximately the same phase, and the second and fourth magnetoelectric devices 10b, 10d output the second sine wave signals 100b, 100d having approximately the same phase with a phase difference of about 1/4 wavelength with the first sine wave signals 100a, 100c. Arctangent operation and averaging operation are applied based on the first and second sine wave signals 100a-100d, and hereby the first and second sine wave signals 100a-100d are transformed into a detection signal displayed approximately linearly, to thereby detect the rotation angle θ.
