An integrated remote controller and a method for selecting a device to be controlled thereby are provided to easily search a device that a user wants to control by using angular velocity together with image recognition and infrared communication, thereby exactly selecting the device only by enabling the user to make the integrated remote controller face the device even when controlling one device of plural devices which are adjacent to each other. An integrated remote controller comprises the following: a photographing unit(16); a recognition data storage(15) for storing image data, obtained by previously photographing the appearance of a device, and location data of the device; an angular velocity sensor(18) for sensing changes of angular velocity when the integrated remote controller changes its location; a controller(14) which compares the images photographed by the photographing unit(16) with the image data stored in the recognition data storage(15) in order to recognize the photographed device and grasps a device, which will be controlled by a user, by using the angular velocity sensed by the angular velocity sensor(18) and the location data if the recognized devices are plural; and a display(11). |
