<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inflating an airbag, capable of effectively recycling vehicle parts and shortening standby time after inflation. <P>SOLUTION: This method inflates an airbag 51 of an unnecessary airbag system 50 by activating an inflator of the airbag system 50 with the airbag 50 mounted on a vehicle. In activating an inflator to inflate the airbag 51 after securing a cutting tool around a periphery of a lid 61 with a tool 1 inserted between an instrument panel 60 and a seat 90, this method breaks the airbag 51 with the tool 1, thus suppressing the inflation of the airbag 51 prior to complete inflation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
