PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester multi-hollow fiber having 20-50% hollow ratio and exhibiting deepness of color and clarity. SOLUTION: The specific polyester multi-hollow fiber is a partially oriented (POY) polyester multi-hollow fiber in which the hollow ratio is 20-50% and boiling water shrinkage is 15-40% and elongation maximum yield point is 100-150% and fine pore-forming agent composed of a metal-containing phosphorus compound (a) and an alkaline earth metal compound (b) is formulated in the polyester. The metal-containing phosphorus compound (a) in an amount of 0.5-3 mol% and the alkaline earth metal compound (b) in an amount of 0.5-1.2 mol based on 1 mol of the metal-containing phosphorus compound are added as the fine pore-forming agent to the polyester reaction system without previously reacting the component (a) with the component (b).
