PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluoride single crystal, by which a fluoride single crystal exhibiting sufficiently high transmittance even in a short-wavelength region can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the fluoride single crystal, comprising growing the fluoride single crystal by cooling a melt, obtained by melting a mixture of a fluoride and a scavenger, the scavenger contains two or more kinds of compounds each having at least one maximum point in a range of≤1,400°C in a pressure-temperature curve.
