PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating material for tempura oil, which can absorb waste oil such as tempura oil quickly in large quantities. SOLUTION: The treating material for tempura oil is obtained by housing a group of grease-unremoved absorbent cottons 3, 3 in a pouched container. The pouched container is formed from a nonwoven fabric composed of a thermoplastic fiber. A sealed part 1 formed by softening or melting the thermoplastic fiber and solidifying the softened or melted thermoplastic fiber is arranged at both opposed ends of the pouched container. A folio treating material formed by folding the treating material for tempura oil into two, namely, by folding the treating material for tempura oil into two so as to superimpose the sealed parts 1, 1 at both ends on each other, again softening or melting the thermoplastic fiber existing in the superimposed sealed parts 1, 1 and solidifying the softened or melted thermoplastic fiber so that the sealed parts 1, 1 are melt-stuck and bonded to each other can be used as the treating material for tempura oil. Chopsticks are inserted into the folded space 5 of the folio treating material and the inner wall of a deep fryer is wiped/cleaned by the chopstick-inserted folio treating material.
