The terminal clamp (16) includes an integral formation (34). This is designed and constructed to take impacts. These set up a mounting- or assembly force, which prevents relative movement between the clamping terminal and a normal battery terminal (13). The formation is a part of the clamp fastening. The clamp annular section (25) carries the formation. The clamp is suitable for fastening to a standard battery terminal. The formation is integral with the annular section. The impact-accepting formation is at least part-annular, or comprises numbers of dome-like projections distributed over the annular section. The terminal fastening includes an impact-sensitive body (43) fastened to it. This contains e.g. electrics or electronics in a casing. The formation towers above one end (52) of this body.
