The method involves connecting drive (6-10) with accumulators (4, 5), and loading the drives by energy demand, which causes an operation of a vehicle. A loading state of the accumulators is changed based on a load of the drives. The loading state of the accumulators is adjusted with an additional reference value. The load of the drives is determined from signals of a signal generator, which provides location coordinates of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for saving energy in a vehicle.
