<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording method and device to record a desired image with high accuracy in an image recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A test pattern is formed on a substrate based on test data supplied from a test data memory 80, and the line width of the pattern is measured.
