<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source not using mercury, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The planar light source comprises a lower substrate; a cathode electrode formed on the lower substrate having at least two layers of which an upper layer contains at least one metal chosen from a group including silver (Ag), lead (Pb), niobium (Nb). molybdenum (Mo), copper (Cu), tantalum (Ta), bismuth (Bi), aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti) and molybdenum-tungsten alloy; carbon nano-tubes for emitter chip grown on the cathode electrode; and an upper substrate facing the lower substrate, containing phosphorescent material and a transparent electrode. The manufacturing method of the planar light source device, the liquid crystal display device using the planar light source device, and the manufacturing method of the same are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
