<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system developing only an area of trial printing by a spooler to reduce a time to the trial printing when a set paper sheet size is smaller than a set paper sheet. <P>SOLUTION: This printing system has: a printer having a function detecting the size of the paper sheet; and print control software operating inside a host computer connected to the printer, instructing the printer to perform printing. In the printing system, the printer notifies the host computer of the detected size of the paper sheet, and the print control software of the host computer compares the paper sheet size set by application software and the paper sheet size of the printer. When the paper sheet size of the printer is smaller than the paper sheet size set by the application software, a portion to be printed is designated by a user interface, only the designated portion is developed to print data by the spooler, and the printing is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
