<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sports beverage improved in chuggability or gulpability when thirsty, and having either no or at least a substantially reduced aftertaste. <P>SOLUTION: A non-carbonate sports beverage composition comprises water, electrolytes, a material selected from the group consisting of carbohydrates and non-nutritive sweeteners, and an acidulant system comprising citric acid from about 0.10 mass% to about 0.15 mass% of the non-carbonated sports beverage composition and phosphoric acid, wherein the mass ratio of citric acid to phosphoric acid is from about 0.5:1 to about 13.8:1, and wherein the composition has a pH from about 2.5 to about 4.0, and the electrolytes comprises sodium ions, potassium ions, calcium ions, magnesium ions, and chloride ions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
