<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the occupant crash protection performance against a side impact of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: An occupant crash protection device 1 according to the invention is structured so that a belt 5 is taken up by a retractor 8 when possibility of side impact increases, to cause the belt 5 appearing between a shoulder anchor 4 provided with the tip of shoulder of a seat back part on the outside of a seat 2 and a through anchor 7 provided at the front end of the seat cushion part, which generates a condition to prepare for a side impact. In case side impact has happened, the shoulder anchor 4 and the through anchor 7 are drawn toward inside the vehicle along a shoulder anchor rail 3 and a through anchor rail 6, which restrains the occupant to inside the vehicle. This allows reducing the impact energy between the occupant and a door etc. when the vehicle makes side impact and enhancing the occupant restraining force in the vehicle lateral direction.
