PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safeguard device, the required strength of which can be obtained with a smaller weight and at a lower cost than the conventional one. SOLUTION: This safeguard device is provided in the periphery of bedding such as a bed and a Japanese-style mattress to protect a person sleeping on the bedding from earthquake damage. The device includes: a pair of first frames having a pair of struts and a top frame part connecting the upper ends thereof to each other to form a gantry shape, which are erected opposite to each other on the head side and the leg side of the bedding; a top frame connecting the upper ends of the first frames through the top frame part; and a reinforcement frame, wherein the reinforcement frame has a pair of struts and a top frame part connecting the upper ends thereof to each other to form a gantry shape, and the top frame part is connected to the top frame to obliquely intersect each other.
