PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of stably supplying a combustion chamber with gas fuel by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 1 is provided with a main combustion chamber 63 and a subsidiary combustion chamber 61 and a fuel supply mechanism 70. The fuel supply mechanism 70 supplies the main combustion chamber 63 and the subsidiary combustion chamber with fuel. Fuel includes gas fuel. The fuel supply mechanism 70 includes a plasma electrode 72, a fuel reforming vessel 74 and a fuel pump 82. The plasma electrode 72 forms gas fuel from a part of liquid fuel in the fuel reforming vessel 74. The fuel pump 82 pressurizes liquid fuel. Pressure of liquid fuel and pressure of gas fuel is roughly equal in the fuel reforming vessel 74. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
