PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a blend type conjugate fiber in which rapid raise of melting viscosity is suppressed and yarn-making property is improved and feed of a product which is stable over a long time is made possible by suppressing reaction of a melted liquid crystal-forming polyester (A) with a polyphenylene sulfide (B). SOLUTION: In the production method of a blend type conjugate fiber composed of the melted liquid crystal-forming polyester (A) and the polyphenylene sulfide (B), an aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer and/or its esterified derivative is added to a mixing system of these polymers (A) and (B) and then, melt-spinning is carried out.
