PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a get-on/-off step device for a vehicle structured so that the extended step board stops in a position allowing a passenger to get on and off easily and having a high rigidity without causing the step board to sink even in case the passenger get on the top surface of the step board. SOLUTION: The get-on/-off step device S for vehicle is equipped with a movable step 50 for assisting a passenger getting on and off, a extending and retracting part 30 to move the movable step 50 between the retracted position and the extended position, a drive part 20 to drive the extending and retracting part 30, and a supporting member 10 installed under the vehicle floor and supporting the extending and retracting part 30 and the drive part 20. The extending and retracting part 30 is furnished with a horizontally moving mechanism to rotate an arm member 46 round a second vertical shaft 43, and holding members 13 and 14 to fasten the arm member 46 when the movable step 50 has moved to the extended position are installed on the side with the supporting member 10 or the vehicle, and in the extended position, the load applied downward onto the movable step 50 is supported by the holding members 13 and 14.
