The present invention relates to a method for placing a carrier of visual information such as a photograph or poster into a holder using a blank. According to the invention the blank comprises an optically transparent body and the blank comprises at least two flaps connected via connecting zones to the optically transparent body, the material at the connecting zones is made of plastic, and the thickness of the material at the connecting zones is such that the plastic material is bendable at these zones, whereas the thickness of the material of the transparent body and the flaps is at least 2 times as large as the thickness of the material at the location of the bendable plastic material and the flaps are fixed with respect to each other.
