A terrestrial DMB system and a method for obtaining improved broadcasting service configuration information are provided to set a return channel with a broadcasting station corresponding to changed broadcasting service coverage when broadcasting service coverage is changed and download broadcasting service configuration information from the broadcasting station, thereby significantly shortening time required to update the broadcasting service configuration information according to the changed broadcasting service coverage. A terrestrial DMB system for obtaining improved broadcasting service configuration information comprises the followings: a DMB receiving terminal(400); the first coverage broadcasting station(306) which receives location information of the DMB receiving terminal(400) from a mobile telecommunication station(402) when a location confirmation request is received from the DMB receiving terminal(400), determines whether the DMB receiving terminal(400) exists within its broadcasting service coverage(304), and transmits information for confirming whether the broadcasting service coverage(304) is changed to the DMB receiving terminal(400) according to determination result; the second coverage broadcasting station(318) which supplies the broadcasting service configuration information of the second ensemble frequency to the DMB receiving terminal(400) according to the request of the DMB receiving terminal(400); and the mobile telecommunication station(402).
