A drum-type washing machine is provided to save the energy by stopping the operation of a tubular heater when water supplied with a tub reaches the set temperature. A drum-type washing machine comprises: a circulation pump(28) installed at the lower surface unit in the drum-type washing machine; a drain pipe(30) connected to the circulation pump to discharge water into the outside through the circulation pump; a circulation pipe(32) connected to the one side of the drain pipe, installed to feed the water supplied by the circulation pump in a drum(12) from the upper end of the drum; a passage change device(38) mounted at a part where the drain pipe is combined to the circulation pipe so as to drain or circulate the water supplied by the circulation pump; a first nozzle(36) installed at the end of the circulation pipe to feed water from the upper side variable part of the drum; a second nozzle(34) installed in the middle of the circulation pipe to supply water with the upper side unit of the drum; a heater(22) mounted in a heater housing(20) in adjacent to the circulation pump so as to heat water; a first temperature sensor(24) mounted on the upside part of the heater housing where the heater is installed; a second temperature sensor(26) installed at the downside part of the heater housing; and a controller for controlling the operation of the drum-type washing machine and the washing process.
