REASONING APPARATUS FOR USER ADAPTIVE SERVICE IN KNOWLEDGE-BASED HOME NETWORK

A reasoning apparatus for providing a user adaptive service in a knowledge-based home network is provided to store basic profiles about a user and home appliances, and provide a service corresponding to a pattern correspondingly to basic rules which will be applied according to tastes and movement of the user based on the stored basic profile. A reasoning apparatus for providing a user adaptive service in a knowledge-based home network comprises the followings: a query API(Application Programming Interface)(11); a fact translator(12) for converting relation among a user profile, home appliances, and services into a fact which can be applied to a reasoning process, and storing the converted fact; a rule translator(13) for converting and storing system rules for a context reasoning process and service rules for service provision and operation so as to be applied to the reasoning process; a context translator(14) for converting user commands and sensing data into context so as to be applied to the reasoning process; a reasoning engine(15) which performs real-time management by storing and updating dynamic variation of the fact and analysis of a query, and individually configures a service fact for effective analysis management; a reasoning unit(16) which reasons relation among application of rules related to the fact, the fact and the rules, and reasons a context adaptive service suitable for a user through the reasoning result related to the context; and an execution engine(18).
