An information exchange system and a management server, a terminal unit, and a method used in the same to reduce network load are provided to insert a subscribe request for plural resources into a request when it is necessary to receive status notification related to each resource, thereby reducing the network load when transmitting the subscribe request for the start or update of a subscription. An information exchange system comprises the followings: the first terminal unit(3) which includes a monitoring unit monitoring the state of at least one monitored object and a notifying unit transmitting information the state of the at least one monitored object to a management server; the second terminal unit(1) which includes a state notify request transmitting unit transmitting a state notify request, which includes information for designating a monitored object group including the at least one monitored object, to the management server; the management server which includes a monitored object state retaining unit, receiving the information about the state of the at least one object to be monitored from the first terminal unit(3) and retaining the received information, and includes the first transmission processing unit transmitting a notify signal including information about state of the at least one monitored object to the second terminal unit(1).
