PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an ontology dictionary where semantic knowledge that is more abundant than before has been registered.

SOLUTION: A dictionary creating device 1 comprises a paraphrasing processing section 10 for generating a plurality of word meaning sentences including a word meaning sentence described in text 4 by paraphrasing and converting a word meaning sentence to a differently shaped word meaning sentence having nearly the same meaning with the text 4 in which the word meaning sentence for explaining the meaning of a word is described as input; syntax meaning analysis means (a word meaning sentence division section 11, a word meaning giving section 12, a syntax meaning analysis section 13) for analyzing the syntax structure and meaning structure of each word meaning sentence; a thesaurus 18 having registered synonyms, quasi-synonyms, and broader and narrower terms that are in a broad/narrow relationship semantically; and a knowledge acquisition section 14 for creating the ontology dictionary 2 based on the syntax meaning analysis results and the registered contents of the thesaurus 18.
