<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and low cost reel display device of a game machine smoothly starting and rotating by obtaining sufficient starting torque when starting reels without enlarging the device and saving energy by preventing the flowing of a wasteful short-circuit current when stopping the reels. <P>SOLUTION: This reel display device of the game machine is provided with the annular reels having a plurality of symbols on their outer circumferential faces, stepping motors 3 at least having two-phase exciting coils and rotatingly driving the reels, a driving circuit 4 driving the exciting coils, and a control part transmitting a control signal to the driving circuit for controlling the rotation and stop of the reels; and is characterized in that the driving circuit 4 is a bipolar driving circuit temporally reversing the direction of a current flowing the exciting coils 32 and 33.
