PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card insertion socket in which two types of cards are spatially efficiently inserted. SOLUTION: The card insertion socket 1 of a portable telephone is provided with: a socket housing 10 installed electrically connectably to a portable telephone; a first card insertion slot 20 formed in one side surface of the socket housing 10 and formed in the position where a first card insertion slot 21 into which one card 4 is exposed when a battery 3 at a back face side of the portable telephone 2 is separated; and a second card insertion slot 30 formed in the other side surface of the socket housing 10, wherein a second card insertion slot 31 into which a second card 5 is inserted is exposed on a side face of the portable telephone.
