PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of acquiring a color information within a wide range by using an XYZ colorimetric system. SOLUTION: The imaging device forms conversion signals corresponding to a function (x), the function (y), and the function (z) as the color matching functions of an XYZ color matching system respectively from an incident light. The imaging device has a spectral means spectrally diffracting the incident light into the incident light corresponding to the function (y), the incident light corresponding to the function (z), and the two incident lights corresponding to the function (x) so as to have a single peak to a wavelength. The imaging device further has a photoelectric conversion means for converting each spectrally diffracted incident light into electric signals, and a synthetic means for forming the conversion signals corresponding to the function (x) by synthesizing the two electric signals corresponding to the two incident lights corresponding to the function (x).
