PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching apparatus and a selection supporting method for a phonetic memory area creating and providing a selection menu of a voice mail box as a Web page when a recording request from an IP telephone terminal having a Web function has been made. SOLUTION: A plurality of voice mail boxes are stored in a storage means 19. When the recording request from the IP telephone terminal 11 is received and the IP telephone terminal 11 is provided with the Web function, a Web page capable of accessing the voice mail box corresponding to the recording request is created by a Web page generation means 20 and a URL for accessing the Web page is transmitted to the IP telephone terminal 11.
