摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VCG (virtual concatenation group) having flexibility higher than the one of a conventional VCAT (virtual concatenation) technology. SOLUTION: SDH/SONET signal relay transmission apparatus connected with an Ethernet (R) device are associated with each other through a transmission path, and a system is built for relay transmission of the Ethernet (R) signals using a VCAT technology recommended in ITU-T G. 707. In this system, the VCG band on the transmission path is mixedly constituted with a VC path of information hold bands different from Ho-VC such as VC-4 (139.264 Mbps) and VC-3 (44.736 Mbps) and Lo-VC such as VC-12 (2.048 Mbps) and VC-11 (1.544 Mbps).
